Susie’s first U.S. show in 15 years was scheduled to take place at the Cruel World festival in Pasadena, California on Saturday, but was abruptly cancelled due to inclement weather. The festival, which had an ’80s-oriented lineup, also saw sets from the Human League and Iggy Pop cancelled. Organizers instructed festival-goers to leave the event grounds and move to a protected area. The event venues have not reopened and Susie’s headliner set, which was her only North American performance for 2023, was cancelled.
Many fans who had come to see Susie expressed their disappointment on social media. However, on Sunday, the organizers announced that Susie and Iggy Pop would be returning to Brookside at the Rose Bowl for a rescheduled show (weather permitting). Susie will be playing her extended set for her fans who missed out on the Saturday show. Those who had a pass for the festival on Saturday will be admitted to the 5 p.m. show on Sunday.
Apart from Susie and Iggy Pop, the Cruel World festival also showcased all-weather sets from Echo & the Bunnymen, Gary Numan, Billy Idol, Love & Rockets, Berlin, and others.
