Wide receiver David White Jr.’s journey to make the Jaguars roster has unfortunately been cut short. Head coach Doug Pederson confirmed at a press conference on Monday that White tore his ACL during a practice last week. White himself announced the injury over the weekend, bringing an end to what had been a promising offseason for the young player. Pederson expressed his support for White and wished him a full and speedy recovery.
White joined the Jaguars after going undrafted from Western Carolina this year, showcasing his talents and potential during his time with the team. Despite this setback, White had made a positive impression on the coaching staff and his teammates. Last season, he had an impressive 34 catches for 519 yards and six touchdowns, demonstrating his capabilities as a receiver.
Following White’s injury, first-round pick Brian Thomas Jr. now joins a talented group of receivers at the top of the depth chart in Jacksonville. Players like Christian Kirk, Gabe Davis, Parker Washington, Tim Jones, and Devin Duvernay will now look to step up and fill the void left by White’s absence. The team will continue to adjust and prepare for the upcoming season, working together to overcome this setback and strive for success on the field.
