Rory McIlroy revealed to The Guardian’s Ewan Murray that his divorce from wife Erica Stoll has been called off. This news comes just before McIlroy is set to compete in the U.S. Open and amidst speculation about his personal life. McIlroy confirmed the reconciliation by stating that responding to rumors about his personal life is not worth his time. He and Stoll have come to the realization that their best future is together as a family and are looking forward to starting anew.

The couple initially filed for divorce before the PGA Championship last month, citing a broken relationship in court filings. McIlroy and Stoll have been in a relationship for seven years and have a 3-year-old daughter named Poppy. The reasons behind the divorce filing and the subsequent reconciliation remain unclear, but the pair have united once again.

McIlroy will be playing at the U.S. Open alongside Xander Schaufele and Scottie Scheffler, two top-ranked golfers. Despite not having won a major championship in almost a decade, McIlroy is coming off a successful season on the PGA Tour, having won twice and not finished worse than T15 since April. He finished second at the U.S. Open last year and is determined to secure his fifth major title. McIlroy expressed confidence in his abilities and hopes to achieve more success in the upcoming tournament.
