Rory McIlroy denies rumors of joining LIV Golf

Rory McIlroy is not joining LIV Golf, despite rumors circulating on social media about a potential $850 million deal. McIlroy’s agent denied the rumors, and McIlroy himself confirmed that he has not been offered any deal by LIV and has no intention of joining the tour. In an interview with the Golf Channel, McIlroy expressed his loyalty to the PGA Tour and stated that he believes the future of his career lies there.

While LIV Golf has signed big-name stars like Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau, the tour has struggled to generate interest among fans. TV ratings are low, and attendance at LIV events remains sparse. McIlroy has always been a target for LIV, as his signing could potentially elevate the tour and pose a threat to the PGA Tour.

Despite the speculation, McIlroy’s loyalty to the PGA Tour remains unwavering. While his signing would significantly boost LIV’s foreign-born roster and add another top-10 player to their lineup, McIlroy has made it clear that he is committed to the PGA Tour. The fractured nature of the golfing world is evident in the ongoing rivalry between established tours and upstarts like LIV.
