Rototest is currently showcasing its expanding range of powertrain dynamometer technology at this year’s expo. The models on display are specifically designed for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and university applications. Christian Engström, the CEO of Rototest, highlighted the benefits of attending the expo, stating that it provides valuable feedback and leads from European OEMs.

One of the key features at the expo is the new Energy a62 4WD model, which is designed for high dynamic braking tests needed for autonomous emergency braking systems. This model can also test for other ADAS functionalities like ACC and LKA. It offers high transient torque and power capabilities, with individual wheel torques up to 4,000Nm and system powers up to 1.2MW. For more demanding tests, Rototest can provide solutions up to 5,000Nm (400kW). The Energy a62 is also compatible with Rototest’s Natural Steering solution.

In addition to the Energy a62, Rototest is showcasing the Energy u14 4WD model designed for educational institutions. This model, based on the same technology as the larger models, offers streamlined options and functional modules, making it ideal for universities and educational establishments with budget constraints. Engström noted that the Energy u14 4WD is a cost-effective solution for educational purposes and can conduct a wide range of tests with the integrated vehicle model.

The Energy u14 4WD system is equipped with soft limits to ensure proper usage by the user or student. Its modular architecture allows it to be split into two u14 2WD systems, allowing more students to get involved with the system. Those interested in learning more about these solutions can visit Rototest at Booth 1234 during the expo. Register for a free expo pass by clicking here.
