Round Rock City to Provide Mental Health Support After Juneteenth Shooting

The City of Round Rock is providing mental health resources to support individuals and families affected by the recent shooting at a Juneteenth event at Old Settler’s Park. The Crisis Response Unit Program Manager, Annie Burwell, encourages those impacted by the tragedy to prioritize their mental health and utilize the available resources for healing.

The Round Rock Fire Department’s Crisis Response Unit will have extended hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. between June 16 and June 21. They can be reached at 512-218-5501 for guidance, education, and to schedule in-person appointments. Team members will be available to provide support and assistance during this time.

In addition to the Crisis Response Unit, the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Disaster Distress Helpline is accessible 24/7 to U.S. residents. Assistance is available in multiple languages by calling or texting 1-800-985-5990. This helpline provides support for those in need of mental health resources during difficult times.
