RWJBarnabas Health Leaders and Employees Participate in Jersey PRIDE Parade and Festival to Promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion leaders from various RWJBarnabas Health facilities, including Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, Monmouth Medical Center, and Community Medical Center, along with more than 150 employees from across the system, joined the 32nd Annual LGBTQ+ PRIDE Parade and Festival in Asbury Park on June 2, 2024. This PRIDE celebration is the largest parade and festival in New Jersey. During the event, the RWJBarnabas Health team provided health screenings and information, highlighting the System’s LGBTQ+ primary care centers and navigation services such as The Babs Siperstein PROUD Center, the PROUD Center at Community Medical Center, and the PROUD Gender Center at RWJUH. With 13 RWJBarnabas Health facilities recognized as Healthcare Equality Index leaders by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, our participation in the PRIDE Celebration showcased our ongoing dedication to the LGBTQ+ community.

The Institute for Prevention and Recovery, along with other organizations, was also represented at the event. The focus on LGBTQIA health equity, diversity, and inclusion was evident throughout the parade and festival. RWJBarnabas Health’s commitment to providing quality care and support to the LGBTQ+ community was highlighted at the event, demonstrating the organization’s efforts to ensure that all individuals receive inclusive and respectful health services.
