SAP has recently announced its plan to acquire WalkMe, a leading provider of digital adoption platforms (DAPs), in order to improve the customer experience and strengthen SAP Business AI offerings. The partnership between the two companies aims to assist end users in their transformation journeys by enhancing SAP’s Business Transformation Management portfolio with WalkMe’s guidance and automation solutions, such as the upcoming WalkMeX copilot.
The integration of WalkMeX copilot, which utilizes contextual awareness and AI to suggest the best next step for any workflow, with SAP’s copilot Joule is expected to enhance AI assistants and boost productivity gains for all SAP customers. WalkMeX is designed to be always on and can be used as an overlay to any application, including copilots from different vendors that companies may use in their landscapes.
In addition to this, SAP plans to combine unique e-learning features from the SAP Enable Now solution with WalkMe to support their people-centric transformation approach. Despite the acquisition, WalkMe has stated that it will continue to support non-SAP applications, demonstrating the company’s commitment to its diverse customer base.
Christian Klein, CEO of SAP, emphasized the importance of supporting end-users to quickly adopt new solutions and maximize the value of their IT investments through the acquisition of WalkMe. Dan Adika, CEO of WalkMe, also expressed excitement about the partnership with SAP, highlighting the opportunities for growth and innovation that the acquisition will bring to both companies and their customers.
