Sarah Bedsaul Hiza has recently taken on the role of vice president of engineering and technology for Lockheed Martin’s rotary and mission systems business. This move comes after her previous position as VP and general manager of strategic and missile defense systems at the company. In a LinkedIn post, Hiza announced that she will be leading a team focused on advancing innovative services and disruptive technologies.
Hiza has a long history with Lockheed Martin, having been with the company for over nine years. She started in 2015 as the director of propulsion, structures, ordnance, and controls, and was promoted to VP in 2017. Over the years, she has held various leadership positions within the company, including deputy general manager of strategic and missile defense systems before assuming her current role in 2021.
In addition to her work at Lockheed Martin, Hiza is also a member of the board of trustees at NOLS, a nonprofit wilderness school. Prior to joining NOLS, she spent 11 years at Orbital ATK, where she started as a research and development scientist and eventually moved into leadership roles in technical operations.
Hiza’s extensive experience in aerospace and defense industries, as well as her leadership roles within Lockheed Martin, make her well-suited for her new position as vice president of engineering and technology.
