Saudi Arabia Might Need to Reconsider Megaprojects Such as Neom

This assessment aligns with comments made by Saudi officials, including the finance minister who acknowledged challenges in implementing the Vision 2030 plan. The minister suggested that adjustments would be made to some projects to suit the current conditions. Additionally, the country’s leadership, including Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, may be open to having discussions about the ambitious projects.

Despite these reports, Saudi Arabia has emphasized that the megaprojects, particularly Neom, are progressing as planned.
