American golfer Scottie Scheffler secured his second Masters title in April. In the third round of the Memorial Tournament, Scheffler held a commanding lead at 10 under par. He was followed by Sepp Straka from Austria and Colin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin from the United States, all at 6 under par. Other notable players included Rory McIlroy from Northern Ireland, Tommy Fleetwood from England, and Shane Lowry from Ireland.
Despite a mid-round setback of a triple-bogey on the ninth hole, Scheffler was able to maintain his lead and finish the round with a one-under-par 71. He attributed his resilience to his ability to refocus after the disappointing ninth hole. Heading into the final round, Scheffler was four shots ahead of his closest competitors.
The Memorial Tournament, held at Muirfield Village in Ohio, is a prestigious event on the PGA Tour with a total purse of $20 million. The tournament serves as a precursor to the upcoming US Open at Pinehurst. As the world number one, Scheffler is looking to add another title to his impressive resume as he aims to further solidify his position at the top of the golf world.
