Nrupathunga Kannada Science and Commerce PU College, located in Mysuru, is offering a free pre-university course (PUC) in the Science stream with Kannada as the medium of instruction. This college, under Kannada Vikasa Shaikshanika Samajika Samskruthika Samsthe, is the only one in Karnataka state to offer the Science course in Kannada medium. Students can choose from two combinations – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (PCMB) or Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Computer Science (PCMC).
The Secretary of the institution, P M Savitha, mentioned that the college has been conducting these courses for the past four years. Regardless of their location, students in both first and second PUC academic years will receive a full fee waiver when they enroll in the courses. Students from any part of Karnataka can join the course without having to pay any fees. The Ananthpur-based Kuderu Mutt in Mysuru will provide free hostel accommodations and meals for the students, and those interested can also opt to stay in a government hostel nearby.
Sa Ra Sudarshan, the Vice-president of the Samsthe, highlighted that the college will be particularly beneficial for students aspiring to write NEET and CET exams in Kannada to secure seats in prestigious medical and engineering colleges.
