Science Heroes engages children in science activities at Heights Library to spark their interest in STEM subjects

The Stewart C. Meyer Library in Harker Heights was buzzing with excitement as elementary school students embarked on a thrilling adventure during the weekly Lets Explore STEAM Program. This week’s program showcased Science Heroes, an organization that employs interactive storytelling and exciting experiments to encourage children to explore the wonders of science. Reference librarian and science programming leader, Heather Heilman, expressed her excitement as Science Heroes made their debut at the library. She noted that the incorporation of various science aspects into a captivating story helped keep the kids engaged and entertained.

The atmosphere at the library was filled with awe and wonder as students participated in the Science Heroes program. Through a combination of storytelling and hands-on experiments, children were inspired to delve deeper into the world of science. The interactive nature of the activities allowed students to not only learn about scientific concepts but also to experience them firsthand. Heather Heilman emphasized the importance of making science education fun and engaging for young learners, and Science Heroes certainly succeeded in doing so during their visit to the library.

As the students eagerly participated in the Science Heroes program, their curiosity and enthusiasm for science were palpable. The combination of storytelling and interactive experiments provided a unique and effective way to spark children’s interest in various scientific disciplines.
