Science Saturday April 20: Reconnect with Nature by Reconnecting with Yourself

This weekend’s Science Saturday features speaker Gavin Shwahla, a storyteller, filmmaker, and conservationist. The event, hosted by the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences, will take place at 11 a.m. on Zoom. As the series is wrapping up this spring, there are only a couple more Science Saturdays left, including the talks on April 20 and 27. Make sure to register in advance to attend these final sessions.

Gavin Shwahla will be discussing how to “rewild the planet through rewilding your soul” during this weekend’s Science Saturday. All sessions begin at 11 a.m. and are free to attend for interested individuals. According to LBIF, Shwahla will share his journey as a biologist turned filmmaker and photographer, exploring his personal experiences with overcoming fear and anxiety to live authentically. He will also provide examples of how inner healing can positively impact the world around us.

Participants can expect to deepen their view of nature, appreciate the beauty of life, and realize the power they have to shape the world they desire to live in through rewilding their soul. Science Saturday lectures are limited to 95 people, whether attending virtually or in-person. To attend, register at lbifoundation.org/science or through the emails sent by LBIF to subscribers. —J.K.-H.
