Scopely appoints former Riot Games executive Mike Seavers as Senior Vice President of Technology

Scopely, a free-to-play developer, recently announced the appointment of Mike Seavers as the senior vice president in charge of its technology department. Seavers comes with a wealth of experience, having previously worked at Riot Games and Yuta Labs as their chief technical officer. Throughout his 25-year career, Seavers has worked on popular games like League of Legends and Fortnite, demonstrating his expertise in “scaling audiences and communities.”

According to COO Eunice Lee, Seavers will be working closely with Scopely’s co-founder Ankur Bulsara to shape the company’s technological expertise and ensure that emerging technologies are utilized to enhance player experiences and support their gamemakers. Scopely also highlights Seavers’ proficiency in cross-platform technology, which is considered essential for their games on consoles.

By joining Scopely at a time when titles like Monopoly Go! and Marvel Strike Force are experiencing success and continued engagement, Seavers is well-positioned to contribute to the company’s growth. He emphasizes the importance of creating immersive and unforgettable experiences, pointing to games like Stumble Guys as examples of Scopely’s ambition in this arena.

With the recent addition of Bobby Moya, who oversees partnerships with external studios, Scopely is strengthening its leadership team to support its larger ambitions. The company is focused on pushing the boundaries of innovation and delivering innovative gaming experiences to players around the world.
