The South Dakota State University Department of Animal Science will be participating in the 2024 Midwest Section meeting of the American Society of Animal Science. The event, taking place from March 10-13 in Madison, Wisconsin, will feature the latest research and Extension projects from both students and faculty. This conference will include student competitions, symposiums, and presentations that showcase the ongoing research conducted by students and faculty.
During this annual conference, graduate and undergraduate students will have the opportunity to share their research results through oral and poster presentations. This will also provide them with access to other national and international animal science research. Among the attendees are three graduating student research assistants who will be presenting the results of multi-year projects focused on various aspects of swine health.
The Midwest section of the American Society of Animal Science is comprised of several states in the U.S., including South Dakota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Ohio. Additionally, the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and part of Ontario are also part of this section. The participation of SDSU in this conference demonstrates the university’s commitment to advancing the field of animal science and sharing their research with the broader community.
