Senator Young tours the Indiana University Technology Park

Last week, U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) visited the Indiana University (IU) Technology Park and met with IU students and faculty. Indiana University Associate Vice President for Research Technologies, Matthew Link, gave the senator a tour of the IU Data Center, showing him the physical hardware components that make up artificial intelligence compute. This visit provided Senator Young with insights into the advancements in technology and research happening at IU.

During the tour, Senator Young learned about IU’s I-Light program, a high-speed fiber optic network connecting research and education communities across the state. Additionally, Young visited IU’s Data Center, where he saw Big Red 200, a supercomputer supporting advanced research in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics. The senator was able to witness the cutting-edge technology being utilized at IU to drive innovation and discovery.

The visit concluded with project updates from students and faculty in the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. Senator Young expressed his appreciation for the firsthand look at the AI innovation and research happening at Indiana University. He praised the contributions that students and faculty at IU are making to the state’s leadership in AI and other emerging technologies. Overall, the visit was a valuable opportunity for Senator Young to see firsthand the groundbreaking work being done at IU.
