September 9, 2023 High School Sports Score Report

High school cross country results from the Red, White & Blue Classic at White Oak Park were announced on Saturday. In the boys’ Class 3A individual race, M.J. Pottinger from Grove City took first place with a time of 15:21, followed closely by Jack Bertram from North Allegheny in second place with a time of 15:23. Kamden Kramer from McDowell came in third with a time of 15:32. In the team standings, North Allegheny took first place with a score of 93, followed by Hampton with 109 points and Grove City with 132 points.

In the girls’ Class 3A individual race, Wren Kucler from North Allegheny finished first with a time of 17:45. Her teammates Robin Kucler and Eva Kynaston took second and third place, respectively. In the team standings, North Allegheny dominated with a score of 37, followed by Morgantown with 75 points and Norwin with 148 points.

In the boys’ Class 2A individual race, Julian Kletz from Montour claimed first place with a time of 15:34. Clark LaLomia from Quaker Valley finished just one second behind him in second place. Montour also took first place in the team standings with a score of 90, followed closely by Beaver with 94 points.

In the girls’ Class 2A individual race, Lakyn Schaltenbrand from Montour finished first with a time of 19:06. Kevyn Fish from Hampton took second place, while Grace Fritzman from West Allegheny came in third. Montour claimed first place in the team standings with a score of 97, followed by North Catholic with 118 points.

In nonconference football, Springdale defeated Summit Academy with a final score of 35-21.

In boys’ soccer, Plum defeated Obama Academy 3-0 in a Class 3A Section 4 match. Armstrong also secured a victory with a score of 5-1 against West Shamokin in a nonsection game.

In girls’ soccer, Mt. Lebanon defeated Bethel Park 3-0 in Class 4A Section 2. Avonworth tied with Canfield, Ohio with a final score of 4-4 in a nonsection match. Baldwin secured a victory with a score of 1-0 against Ringgold.
