Serbian Authorities Declare Croatian Diplomat Persona Non Grata, Accusing Him of Violating Diplomatic Norms

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia declared Hrvoje Šnajder, the first secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Belgrade, to be persona non grata in accordance with Article 9 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic-Consular Relations. Kurir reported on this decision made on November 20. The Ministry stated that Šnajder grossly departed from the framework of diplomatic norms and violated the aforementioned Convention. A diplomatic note was delivered to the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, Hidajet Biščević, in response to this.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia expressed its expectation for the improvement of bilateral relations between the two countries and for good neighborly relations. They also stated that they hope the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Croatia will work together to build mutual trust with the goal of achieving a common European future.

This decision marks a development in the ongoing diplomatic relations between Serbia and Croatia. The Ministry emphasized the importance of adherence to diplomatic norms and the Vienna Convention for maintaining positive relations between the two countries.
