The Jaguars recently held an event in Jacksonville focusing on the franchise’s future, but team owner Shad Khan couldn’t shake the memories of their recent struggles. During a news conference with Mayor Donna Deegan, Khan discussed an agreement between the team and city to fund stadium renovations that would solidify the team’s presence in Jacksonville for years to come. This agreement comes after the Jaguars finished the season poorly, going 1-5 down the stretch and failing to make the playoffs after a previous successful year. Khan spoke about speaking with key players like Trevor Lawrence and Josh Allen to understand the cause of their late-season collapse, attributing it to an “organizational failure.”

Khan expressed disappointment in the team’s performance, particularly in the last six games, stating that not being able to win two out of those six games was hard to accept. Despite the season being over, Khan mentioned that the sting of their failures still lingers. The Jaguars chose not to make significant changes following their disappointing end to the season, but it remains to be seen if they will take a different approach if they fall short of expectations again in the future. With the agreement for stadium renovations in place, the team looks to build on their past successes and move forward with a renewed sense of purpose.
