Shepard appointed as senior editor for technology and strategic industries by Bloomberg

Mike Shepard has been named a senior editor for technology and strategic industries by Bloomberg News. Previously, he served as the executive editor for U.S. government news in Washington. Shepard has been with Bloomberg for 13 years, holding various editorial positions such as senior editor in Washington and editor at the technology regulation team, where he edited breaking and enterprise stories. Before joining Bloomberg, Shepard had a 22-year career at The Washington Post, where he held editorial roles including night editor on the financial desk, news editor, and editor of various blogs covering topics such as the economy, technology, and government policy.

Chris Roush, a former dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, was previously the Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. Roush has a background in business journalism, having worked for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune, and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is also an author, having written the leading business reporting textbook “Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication” and a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster titled “Thinking Things Over.”
