On Thursday evening in Youngstown, Ohio, witnesses reported to the police that a disgruntled employee fired several shots in the air in the parking lot of a West Side business. The police were called to 215 Sinter Court around 8:45 p.m. for a fight with gunfire. A witness informed the police that an employee who had been accused of wrongdoing on the job earlier had become upset and left the premises.

Later on, the employee returned apparently intoxicated and threatened to kill three supervisors and shoot up the business, according to another witness. After making these threats, the employee fired several shots into the air from a semiautomatic pistol before driving away towards Division Street. When the police arrived, they found three 9mm shell casings in the parking lot.

Upon reviewing surveillance footage, the police noticed the employee’s car in the vicinity of where the shell casings were recovered. The supervisors of the business informed the police that they were never directly threatened by the employee but had been informed by others of the threats made by the employee.
