In our newsroom, stories may occasionally be reported under a byline of “staff.” This is typically done when rewriting basic news briefs sourced from official statements, such as press releases from a city, which require minimal additional reporting. The staff byline may also be used for stories with multiple authors or those that aggregate news from various sources. If external sources are utilized, they are always credited within the story.
