Simon Element has recently introduced a new business imprint called Simon Acumen. The imprint will be led by Simon Element v-p and publisher Richard Rhorer and executive editor Stephanie Hitchcock. Kimberly Meilun has also joined the team as an editor, transitioning from the Hachette Book Group imprint PublicAffairs. Simon Acumen aims to release 15-20 books annually, with a focus on publishing works that assist readers in navigating the ever-evolving world of work. These books will be written by thought leaders, innovators, academics, journalists, and individuals with a passion for professional development, blending theory and practice to offer fresh insights and practical guidance for readers as they pursue their career goals.

The imprint’s debut title, Cryptomania by Time tech reporter Andrew Chow, is set to be published on August 6. Other upcoming titles include Anchored by Wharton professor Matthew Bidwell, Leadership Pivot by Pam Manfredo Curtis, Level Up by John Richardson and Attia Qureshi, First Generation Corporate by Dartmouth professor Gail Ayala Taylor, and Power in Numbers by Jamie Trull. Jonathan Karp, president and CEO of Simon & Schuster, expressed the company’s dedication to being a leading publisher of business books, emphasizing their commitment to the imprint dedicated to engaging with authors and readers of business literature.

Rhorer noted that the current climate is ideal for launching a business-oriented imprint, given the rapid advancements in technology and significant cultural shifts in recent years that have caused changes in the workplace and career expectations. He emphasized that readers are seeking books to help them achieve success and purpose in their professional lives, and Simon Acumen is positioned to meet this demand with insightful and practical publications.
