The Justice Department announced on Thursday that Jeremy Gober, a former co-owner of Got Sleep Inc., a California sleep clinic, has been sentenced to 46 months in prison for health care fraud and aggravated identity theft. Got Sleep Inc. operated sleep clinics in Fresno and Orange Counties.

Gober was found guilty of causing the submission of thousands of fraudulent claims to Medicare and Medi-Cal for sleep studies that were never performed on patients. This resulted in over $1.5 million in fraudulent claims being submitted and $587,000 being paid out by Medicare and Medi-Cal.

This case serves as a reminder of the consequences of committing health care fraud and the serious impact it has on public health care programs and patients. The DOJ worked diligently to investigate and prosecute this case, holding those responsible for fraudulent activities accountable for their actions. It is essential to uphold the integrity of health care programs and ensure that patients receive the care they deserve.
