On November 20th, Brazil Main Street and the Clay County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 4th Annual Hometown Christmas event. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is part of Small Business Saturday. This event aims to support local businesses and vendors in Clay County.
During the event, businesses and vendors in Clay County will be open with special activities and offers for attendees. One of the highlights will be a scavenger hunt that involves stops at participating businesses. The winners of the scavenger hunt will be announced during a community Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. at Brazil City Hall.
More than 30 locations are listed on the passport for the scavenger hunt, along with dozens of craft vendors. Participants will be able to obtain the paper passport at all locations and can then visit the businesses to receive a Christmas stamp from each location. Once they have collected stamps from 20 locations, they will be eligible for prizes.
In addition to the paper passport, Thrive West Central has created a Hometown Christmas layer in their Crossroads Trails App. This will provide participants with an easy map and guide to plan their day using their mobile phones. To download the app, individuals can search for “West Central Indiana Trail Map” in the Apple App Store or in the Google Play Store. This app will be a helpful tool to navigate the various participating locations and plan out the day’s activities.
