Josh Maravich, the son of legendary LSU basketball player Pete Maravich, passed away at the age of 42. His cause of death was not disclosed, but it was reported that he died at his family home in Covington, Louisiana. Josh was one of Pete’s two children, along with his older brother Jaeson.

When Pete Maravich died of heart failure at the age of 40, Josh was only 5 years old. Despite growing up without their father, Josh continued to pursue basketball. He attended St. Paul’s School in Covington, where he excelled on the court. Josh scored over 1,000 points during his high school career and was named the MVP of his district in his senior year.

Although he wasn’t a highly recruited player, Josh fulfilled his dream of playing college basketball at LSU, just like his father. He walked on to the team and played sporadically under head coach John Brady, scoring a total of four points in seven career games.

Even after graduating, Josh remained connected to LSU. He played a role in the creation of a statue honoring his father on campus. Details about his funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
