After suffering their first loss of the season last Thursday, Saranac Lake’s volleyball team bounced back in a dominant manner on Tuesday. The Red Storm emerged victorious against the Saranac Central Spartans with a 3-0 win, securing scores of 25-19, 25-17, and 25-19. This victory improved the team’s record to 2-1.
Emily Gay played a crucial role in the team’s success, contributing 17 points, seven aces, four assists, three digs, three kills, and one block for Saranac Lake. Gracen Foster and Alice LaDue also delivered solid performances for the Red Storm. Foster finished with eight points, five assists, four aces, four digs, and one kill, while LaDue scored seven points, two aces, one dig, and one kill. Annika Null, leading the team with four kills, also had three points and two digs.
Lexi Donaldson matched Foster’s four points and made valuable contributions with two points, one ace, and one assist. Peyton Barry also stood out with four points and an ace. Additional contributions came from Maddie Hathaway with one ace and one point, Sophia McBride with one dig and one kill, and Whitney Warner with two kills.
Looking ahead, the Red Storm will host Ausable Valley in a highly anticipated rematch of last season’s Section VII, Class C title contention. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m.
