Special Thanks to Rahul Dravid in PM Modi’s Call with Team India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian Cricket Team on their victory in the T20 World Cup against South Africa in a phone call today. He expressed his gratitude to coach Rahul Dravid for his contributions to Indian cricket during his tenure as the Head Coach, which ended with yesterday’s match. Under Dravid’s guidance, India ended an 11-year ICC title drought with their triumph.

PM Modi commended Rohit Sharma for his outstanding captaincy and praised Virat Kohli for his performance in the final match. Both Kohli and Sharma announced their T20I retirements after the game. Kohli revealed his retirement moments after the victory, while Sharma announced it during the post-match press conference. The Prime Minister also lauded Hardik Pandya for his final over and Suryakumar Yadav for his remarkable catch on the boundary line to dismiss David Miller.

Home Minister Amit Shah also called Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma to congratulate them on the win. PM Modi had earlier expressed his pride in the Indian Cricket Team’s victory, emphasizing that they not only won the World Cup but also the hearts of millions of Indians. Celebrations erupted throughout the country following India’s T20 World Cup win, with fans taking to the streets carrying the Tricolour flag.
