It’s my birthday and I had wished for another dog, but unfortunately, that won’t be happening. To make up for it, I want to give something to one or two (or maybe three) of you. I am offering signed, personalized copies of the mob novel set in 1973, Father of Mine. If you are interested, send an email to florio@profootballtalk.com with the subject line “Father of Mine June 8, 2024 giveaway” and include your mailing address and preferred inscription.
The book is inspired by real-life events of the outfit that ran the town where I grew up. The idea for the story came to me in a dream four years ago and the next day, I began writing it. Along the way, I started writing a sequel and also worked on Playmakers and the Christmas tale, On Our Way Home.
I have several other books in different stages of completion, with a Father of Mine sequel expected around Labor Day. Writing books is a nice change from my usual style of writing brief copy-paste-snarky-comment blurbs. I have generated more than 20 million words since launching PFT in 2001, which has made it easier for me to write long-form fiction.
Writing books is fun and rewarding, especially when people read and enjoy them. Both Father of Mine and On Our Way Home are available in ebook form for $3.99 each, with the print editions priced at $14.99 and $9.99 respectively. If you order the hard copies this weekend, you will likely receive them by Father’s Day.
So, if you decide to support me on my birthday by purchasing a copy of Father of Mine or On Our Way Home, I would truly appreciate it. But, still, I’d rather have another dog.
