The Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball team had a big day as they awaited their assignment for the NAIA National Tournament. They recently won the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament title after facing tough competition over the weekend. This was an impressive turnaround for the Eagle club, as they had been struggling in the weeks leading up to the tournament. Despite losing five of their last six games, they were able to come out on top in the conference tournament.
Head coach Kirk Kelly praised his players for handling the pressure of the situation perfectly. The team’s performance in the tournament allowed them to secure a spot in the national tournament, where they will be competing in a double-elimination format. If they can come out on top in this tournament, they will earn a spot in the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho.
The NAIA Baseball Tournament Selection Show is scheduled for Thursday afternoon at 4:00 and will be broadcasted live on the NAIA’s YouTube page. This event will reveal which teams will be participating in the tournament, including Oklahoma Wesleyan. It will be an exciting time for the players and fans as they eagerly await to see who their team will be facing in the upcoming competition.
