The St. Paul and Doherty softball teams faced off once again in their longstanding rivalry on Tuesday night at Bob Rousseau Field in Worcester, Massachusetts. St. Paul emerged victorious with a 6-1 win, thanks in part to an outstanding pitching performance by Bella Mara. Mara only allowed two hits and struck out an impressive 16 batters.
On the offensive side, Emma Nordahl led the Knights by going 3-4 with a double, triple, RBI, and a run scored. Mara also contributed with a solo home run, and Ava Grant added an RBI of her own. Doherty’s Audrey Lefebvre managed a solo home run, while the Highlanders showcased strong defense, including a highlight-reel diving catch by Tess Lee in right field.
With the win, St. Paul improved to 9-4 on the season, while Doherty’s record fell to 7-6. The game was a testament to the competitive spirit of both teams in this storied rivalry.
