More than 10,000 teachers, parents, and students from four different states gathered at Coors Field in Denver to celebrate STEM Day, a hands-on event that brings science to life. The event featured interactive science experiments and activities for all attendees.
The festivities kicked off with loud cheers as the science experiments began, with special guest Dinger from the Colorado Rockies making an appearance. The crowd watched in amazement as a ball was launched out of barrels, setting the tone for the exciting showcase of scientific phenomena.
Renowned Science Educator Steve Spangler led the 13th annual STEM Day show, featuring thrilling demonstrations such as launching toilet paper out of leaf blowers and creating smoke clouds with liquid nitrogen at temperatures of 320 degrees below zero. The event offered an engaging and fun way for students to learn about science outside of the classroom.
One parent, CBS News Colorado’s Traffic Tracker Brian Sherrod, shared her experience attending the event with her autistic son for the third year in a row. She emphasized the importance of such events in engaging students who may not be interested in traditional educational activities. The hands-on learning approach offered by STEM Day provides an exciting and local opportunity for children to explore science in real-time.
Following the science festivities, all attendees had the chance to enjoy a Colorado Rockies game against the San Diego Padres starting at 1:10 p.m. on Thursday. The event brought together families, educators, and students for a day of fun and educational experiences at Coors Field.
