Stoke secures French defender Bocat

Stoke City has secured their third summer signing with the addition of defender Eric Bocat from Belgian club St Truiden. The 24-year-old Frenchman, who previously played for Lille, has signed a four-year contract with the club. Bocat joins Norwich City defender Ben Gibson and Rotherham United goalkeeper Viktor Johansson as new additions to the team.

Stoke’s sporting director Jon Walters praised Bocat’s versatility, athleticism, and skill, predicting that he will excel in the Championship and beyond. Bocat has the ability to play in multiple positions on the field, making him a valuable asset to the team.

Bocat expressed his excitement about the move, highlighting his offensive capabilities as a left-back while emphasizing the importance of his defensive skills. He credits his time in Belgium for helping him improve his overall game and is looking forward to the new challenge at Stoke City under the guidance of head coach Steven Schumacher.
