Stranded by Hurricane Beryl, India’s T20 World Cup cricket heroes finally set to fly home

Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley stated that efforts were being made to facilitate the departure of those stranded on the island. The airport is expected to resume operations on Tuesday. The hurricane made landfall in Grenada’s Carriacou Island, causing severe damage and one confirmed death. Barbados and other islands in the Caribbean were also affected by the storm, with reported damages to houses and infrastructure.

Hurricane Beryl has wind speeds of 165 miles per hour and is expected to hit Jamaica on Wednesday. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is closely monitoring the storm, and Jamaica has already activated disaster response measures. India’s Board of Control for Cricket has not issued a statement regarding the team’s delay in returning home.
