German advertising group Stroeer is considering options for the sale of Statista in 2024, with a potential valuation of up to 1.5 billion euros ($1.6 billion), according to four sources familiar with the matter. Private equity firms are showing interest in Statista, and the formal sale process is likely to begin next year. Another option being considered is to list Statista on the NASDAQ exchange in the US. Stroeer is working with JP Morgan on strategic options for the business. However, the timing of any sales process is dependent on improving market conditions. The trading performance of Statista has been variable over the past year. Statista CEO Friedrich Schwandt expects the firm to grow by 20-30% annually in the medium term, aiming for sales of around 250 million euros ($268 million) by 2025. Stroeer is preparing for a sale of its consumer asset Asam Beauty, with the Statista process expected to begin once this transaction is complete. Statista is considered non-core to Stroeer’s advertising business, which focuses on out-of-home advertising, online advertising, and billboards in Germany. Stroeer acquired a majority stake in Statista in 2015 and became the sole shareholder in 2019.
