Nov 20, 2023

You have been invited to participate in a 15-minute research study on science-based communication. The study aims to understand how journalists evaluate and report on social science research, with the goal of developing best practices for communicating scientific information.

As a participant, you have the option to receive a $20 gift card as compensation for your time. If you choose this option, you will receive an email from the University of Alabama within 3 weeks specifying the steps for redeeming the card.

If you are interested in participating, you can share your thoughts via the provided link to the survey. Additionally, if you know other journalists or journalism students who might be interested in participating, you are encouraged to share this email with them.

The project is being conducted by Dr. Alexa Tullett’s social psychology laboratory at the University of Alabama, with support from the National Science Foundation. All individual survey responses will remain anonymous in order to protect your privacy.

The results of the study will be reported in scientific publications and presentations, and will also be used to inform further research on best practices for communicating scientific information. Your insight is valuable in contributing to this important research.
