World leaders are convening in Switzerland today to take part in the summit on Ukraine, known as the “Ukraine Peace Resolution.” The main objective of the summit is to exert pressure on Russia in order to bring an end to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. A total of 100 delegations will be present at the summit, with 57 heads of states and governments in attendance. The event will kick off with an opening speech by the President of Switzerland, Viola Amgerd. The summit was organized by Switzerland at the request of Kyiv.

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, arrived in Switzerland a day prior to the summit. In a social media post, he mentioned that the summit will involve two days of intensive discussions with representatives from across the globe, all united in the common goal of achieving a just and lasting peace for Ukraine. Notably, Russia has not been invited to participate in the summit. From the Armenian side, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan will be present.

Moscow has dismissed the event as a “road to nowhere,” stating that they believe it will not contribute in any way towards the establishment of peace. Despite Russia’s absence, the summit is expected to be a crucial gathering of world leaders aiming to address the conflict in Ukraine and work towards a resolution.
