Tampa Bay Buccaneers Welcome Sterling Shepard to the Team

Sterling Shepard and Baker Mayfield, former teammates at Oklahoma, will be reunited in the NFL as Shepard signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The two played together at Oklahoma in 2014 and 2015, with Mayfield having to sit out the 2014 season due to transfer rules. In 2015, they led the Sooners to a conference championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff.

During his senior season, Shepard had 11 touchdown catches and nearly 1,300 receiving yards, providing fans with memorable moments like the comeback win over Tennessee at Neyland Stadium. Shepard’s two touchdowns in that game were crucial to the Sooners securing the victory.

Mayfield played a key role in convincing Shepard to join him in Tampa, as the quarterback is entering his second season with the Buccaneers after a successful year in 2023. The reunion between Shepard and Mayfield is sure to bring back fond memories for Oklahoma fans.

Former coach Bob Stoops must be pleased to see his former players continuing their success in the NFL.
