Taylor Heise is grateful for the opportunity to play hockey and learn from others who have done so much for the sport. She recognizes the hard work and dedication that has gone into growing women’s sports over the years. Heise was the first overall pick in the PWHL Draft last year and this will be her sixth World Championship, her third with the senior team. Team USA will face Switzerland in the preliminary round on Wednesday night.

Coming from a basketball family, Heise chose the ice over the hardwood at a young age. Being the anomaly and forging her own path in hockey made her fall in love with the sport. After playing college hockey at the University of Minnesota, she was drafted into the PWHL and is now part of Team USA preparing for the IIHF Women’s World Championship in Utica.

Heise has had a successful season in the PWHL, scoring four goals and seven assists in 14 games. She recognizes the impact hockey has had on her life and is grateful for the people she has met through the sport. Being part of Team USA and competing in the World Championship is a dream and an honor for Heise. She is excited to bring her skills and dedication to the ice as she represents her country in the upcoming tournament.
