The Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, recently won the T20 World Cup in Barbados. They arrived in Delhi on Thursday morning after being delayed by a category 4 hurricane. Fans eagerly awaited their arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, where they landed on a special charter flight organized by Air India.

This victory marked India’s second win in the T20 World Cup tournament, ending an 11-year drought for an ICC trophy. The team clinched the title with a tense seven-run victory over South Africa in the final match that took place last Saturday.

The specially arranged Air India flight, known as AIC24WC (Air India Champions 24 World Cup), departed from Bridgetown, Barbados, and arrived in Delhi after a 16-hour nonstop journey. Onboard the flight were the Indian team, support staff, players’ families, board officials, and members of the media contingent.

Due to the shutdown caused by hurricane Beryl, the team was unable to return immediately after their victory. After their arrival in Delhi, the team is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence before flying to Mumbai. In Mumbai, they will participate in an open bus victory parade and be honored at a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium.
