Teche Action Clinic is organizing a community resource health fair on Saturday in celebration of National Minority Health Month, which falls in April. The clinic, known as Louisiana’s first community health center, will host the event on April 6 from 9 am to 1 pm at Franklin Jr High School located at 525 Morris Street. This historic school was formerly known as Park Avenue High School and served as one of the area’s black high schools during the era of segregation.

The health fair will offer attendees a variety of free medical tests along with valuable information on health and fitness. New parents or expecting parents will have the opportunity to learn about the WIC program for infants, while others can gather information about their health insurance and how to optimize its benefits.

Organizers are excited to provide a platform for members of the community to access important resources and learn about ways to improve their health and overall well-being. The event promises to be informative and beneficial for all who attend.
