The Iranian Embassy in Armenia has expressed its support for the “Crossroads of Peace” concept proposed by the Armenian government, stating that Tehran supports the expansion of ties within the region. The embassy emphasized that they consider the right of sovereignty of countries to be the main prerequisite for any project of unblocking the routes and that they welcome the project, which contributes to the creation of the opportunity for Armenia to play a role in the system of dynamic economic ties in the region. This statement was made in response to a question from “Armenpress.”
At the end of October last year, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the “Crossroads of Peace” project and the peace agenda in Tbilisi, stressing that the project is an important part of the peace agenda. The key meaning of the project, according to the executive head of Armenia, is the development of communications between Armenia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and the Islamic Republic of Iran by repairing, building, and operating roads, railways, pipelines, cables, and power lines. This vision aims to improve economic ties and create opportunities for peace and collaboration in the region.
