XFS Global LLC, a service-disabled veteran-owned business that manufactures fabric shelters, has opened in Rockbridge County. The company has leased 34,000 square feet in an industrial building and relocated its manufacturing infrastructure from Las Vegas to Natural Bridge Station after acquiring the assets of Creative Tent International. President and CEO Jacob Furbee stated that the company is hiring five people and plans to create more job opportunities in the future.
XFS Global LLC produces semi-permanent, pre-engineered fabric shelter systems for military and commercial applications. They offer various sizes of tents, ranging from large enough to shelter a plane to small enough to house a command post. The buildings come with HVAC equipment, insulation, floors, lights, and installation if requested by the purchaser. The company has already received orders for shelters, including a large shelter for a church and three others for a defense subcontractor.
Both Jacob Furbee and the vice president, Paul Wilcox, are veterans of the Marine Corps and have extensive military experience. Furbee previously worked for a fabric shelter enterprise and is now getting back into the shelter industry with the assistance of a private equity firm that helped form XFS. The company is planning a ribbon-cutting event on December 6th to mark its official opening.
