The Los Angeles Dodgers secured their sixth straight win and completed an unbeaten homestand by defeating the Miami Marlins 3-1. Teoscar Hernández’s two-run homer in the sixth inning helped the Dodgers secure the victory. Freddie Freeman started the scoring by hitting a double off the wall in right field before Hernández’s decisive home run.
The game lasted only 1 hour and 55 minutes, with Hernández accounting for all three of Los Angeles’ runs. Bryan De La Cruz hit a solo home run for the Marlins’ only run of the game in the fourth inning. The Marlins have struggled on their recent road trip, losing five of their last six games.
Gavin Stone pitched a solid seven innings for the Dodgers, allowing only one run on six hits with four strikeouts. The Dodgers’ starting pitchers have been impressive during their homestand, posting a 2.33 ERA with 31 strikeouts and only four walks in their last five games.
The Marlins placed RHP Edward Cabrera on the injured list due to shoulder impingement, while LHP Braxton Garrett was reinstated from the IL and will start on Sunday against Philadelphia. The Marlins will face Philadelphia in their next series, while the Dodgers will head to San Diego for a three-game series starting on Friday. RHP Tyler Glasnow will start for the Dodgers in San Diego.
