Teven Jenkins seeks contract extension, Bears yet to extend offer

Bears offensive lineman Teven Jenkins is approaching the final year of his rookie contract and is hoping to secure a long-term deal with the Chicago Bears. However, negotiations have not yet begun between the two parties. Jenkins and his agent have expressed interest in continuing with the Bears but have not received an offer from the team.

As of now, Jenkins stated that there is no contract extension on the table with the Bears and described the situation as “up in the air.” The Bears selected Jenkins with the 39th overall pick in the 2021 draft, but he has faced challenges staying healthy throughout his first three seasons, only playing in 31 games with 24 starts.

Despite his injury struggles, Jenkins played well when healthy last season and is focused on staying injury-free for the entire upcoming season. His top priority is to play all 17 games and prove his value on the field. If Jenkins can stay healthy and perform at a high level, he is likely to attract a significant second contract next year, whether with the Bears or another team.
