Recently, Stefon Diggs took to social media to address the question of whether he is essential to Josh Allen’s success. The Buffalo Bills have now traded Diggs to the Houston Texans, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. In exchange for Diggs, Buffalo will receive a 2025 second-round pick originally from Minnesota. Houston will receive Diggs, a 2024 sixth-round pick, and a 2025 fifth-round pick. This trade will result in a $31 million dead cap charge for the Bills in 2024, as Diggs is signed through 2027.

Drafted in the fifth round in 2015, Diggs spent his first five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings before joining the Bills in 2020. In his first season with Buffalo, he led the league in catches (127) and yards (1535). While his production dipped slightly in 2023, Diggs still managed to achieve over 100 catches (107) and 1,000 yards (1,183) for the fourth consecutive year. He has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of his last six seasons.

With the Bills choosing to move on from Diggs, the Texans will now benefit from adding him to their roster as another weapon for their rising second-year quarterback, C.J. Stroud. Over his 136 career games, Diggs has recorded 810 receptions for 9,995 yards and 67 touchdowns.
