As the Texans enter the OTA phase of their offseason schedule this week, they are missing several key offensive starters. Left tackle Laremy Tunsil and wide receiver Stefon Diggs were notably absent during the second day of OTAs on Tuesday. In addition, left guard Tytus Howard, right guard Shaq Mason, and edge rusher Danielle Hunter were also not present. Tunsil is known for working out on his own during the offseason, while Howard is recovering from a leg injury that cut short his 2023 season. Despite their absences, some players have participated in other voluntary workouts this spring.
Reporters have observed that some of the missing players have been present for other aspects of the team’s offseason activities. However, their absence during OTAs could have an impact on the team’s preparation for the upcoming season. The Texans are scheduled to have their only mandatory work of the offseason during a minicamp from June 11-13. Any players missing during that time will garner more attention and could potentially affect their standing within the team.
