In Omaha, Nebraska, Texas A&M outfielder Jace LaViolette, a Tompkins HS product and Katy native, hit a solo home run in the first inning to give the Aggies a 1-0 lead over the Tennessee Volunteers. However, in the seventh inning, Tennessee’s outfielder Dylan Dreiling responded with a two-run homer, putting the Volunteers ahead 2-1. Before Dreiling’s home run, the Volunteers struggled with a 0-7 record when there were runners in scoring position.
Game 2 between Texas A&M and Tennessee is currently underway on ABC13. The Texas A&M baseball team is looking to secure a win against Tennessee in Game 2 of the 2024 Men’s College World Series Final on Sunday. After a 9-5 victory in Game 1 on Saturday night, the Aggies are aiming to maintain their momentum and clinch their first baseball national title. The Aggies and Volunteers will face off again at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
