The Central Shenandoah Health District, along with other organizations, has recently released a Rapid Community Assessment survey. The purpose of this survey is to collect feedback from the community regarding access to healthcare services and other health needs. Laura Lee Wight, Population Health Manager, explained that the goal of the survey is to identify any barriers individuals may encounter when attempting to use these services.
The data gathered from the survey will serve as a guide for future programming within the health department. Wight highlighted that Rapid Community Assessments are tools informed by the CDC that local health departments can utilize to quickly assess their community during a specific period of time. The survey is set to close in mid-July, with results being shared with participants and the community as a whole.
In addition to sharing the data with healthcare partners and other community services, the CSHD will be conducting the survey through Community Health Workers and door-to-door canvassing in order to reach individuals across the entire health district. Participants are encouraged to take the survey to help improve the accessibility and quality of healthcare services in the community.
